Bio for Greg Gibson
Greg was born into a musical family. He began singing at birth, piano at age 5, violin at age 8 and trumpet at age 10. Greg is a transplant from Milwaukee, WI where he played in many groups from classical to rock and roll. He is a seasoned musician and has played in bands from jazz, country, disco, big band, rock, wind ensembles and orchestras for years. Greg’s unique style adds texture and excitement to Fog’s sound. Greg taught music for 13 years and is the music director at a local church. He writes, arranges and produces his own music. Greg has always lived by the philosophy that Briscoe Darling declared in an Andy Griffith episode, “If you’ve got time to breathe, you’ve got time for music.”
The musicians that influenced Greg were Maurice André, Wynton Marsalis, Freddie Hubbard, Chuck Leavell, Bruce Hornsby, and Reese Wynans.
